THE SUPERIORITY OF THE BIBLE OVER PSYCHIATRIC LITERATURE

A variety of psychiatric literature, including manuals and medical journals, form the foundation for psychiatric practice both in the United States and abroad. A fascinating and commonly unknown fact is that the core of sound psychiatric practice came from the Bible. Of course, the logic that proves this statement is circuitous and modern psychiatry did invent the scientific language but, remember, a rose by any other name would smell as sweet. That is, the value of psychiatric knowledge resides not in the language but in the concepts expressed by that language. The following chart documents mental disorders that were identified first in the Bible and, then, later, articulated in psychiatry. In addition, in order to demonstrate this knowledge transfer, the L. F. Nexus has produced The Psychiatric King James Bible (link not yet activated), which identifies all of the mental disorders referenced below in their relevant and numerous passages in the Bible.
