Before we begin we would like to point everyone to that part of our website that helps to prepare churches for the coming attack with which this article deals:  Scientific Biblical Studies – Full Content.

The coming attack will come in the area of the “original languages text of the Bible”; that is, the Bible as originally inspired in ancient Hebrew, ancient Aramaic, and ancient Greek.

Today, there are many defenders of the original language text of the Bible both among professional Bible scholars and individual, dedicated Christians.  However, we have seen none that are addressing the ultimately crucial questions necessary to determine the true text of the Bible.  These questions relate to matters of Christian, biblical epistemology and Christian, biblical ontology (subjects covered by the biblical discipline of idesistemology, which, grandiose as it may sound, we alone are addressing).  To best illustrate our point, we will describe our personal experience.  We have omitted proper noun references so as not to disparage anyone’s past, present, or future ministries or other contributions to society.

This is my experience, the experience of Dr. Michael J. Bisconti:

Forty years ago I began seeking answers to questions relating to the textual authority of the original languages text of the Bible.  At that time, there was no public debate and discussion of the original languages text of the Bible as there is today.  Indeed, it was very difficult to find information on the subject.  A couple of decades later some people began writing on the subject; their books were helpful.  As the years went by, others wrote more extensively and more persuasively on the subject.  However, in all of these writings one critical element was missing – definitive argument or proof.  The key word here is “definitive.”  The word “definitive” applies to “what is put forth as final and permanent” (standard Webster’s dictionary).  All books on the subject, to date, have provided, at best, argument and evidence that is only 99% compelling relative to the fact that the Hebrew-Aramaic-Greek text underlying the King James Bible (or any other version of the Bible for that matter) is the correct Hebrew-Aramaic-Greek text of the Bible.  They have all been missing, what we referred to above, idesistemology.

Our churches are not ready for the coming attack on the “original languages text of the Bible”; that is, the Bible as originally inspired in ancient Hebrew, ancient Aramaic, and ancient Greek because they ARE NOT INSTRUCTED IN IDESISTEMOLOGY.  Now, others may prefer to use a different term than “idesistemology.”  Fine.  That does not change the present, dire situation, which is that our churches are not ready for:

THE COMING ATTACK ON THE “ORIGINAL LANGUAGES TEXT OF THE BIBLE.”

Our churches have been misled into thinking that objective science is enough to defend the original languages text of the Bible.  The fact is that the defense of the original languages text of the Bible can only be completed in the realm of the powers of the human spirit, the powers of the mind – psychiatry, psychology, empirical epistemology, empirical ontology, etc., etc.  These are all summed up in the field of idesistemology.  To put it in plain Scriptural language, as the Apostle Paul said in I Corinthians 2:5:

That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

In this verse, the Apostle Paul gives us the key principle of idesistemology, the key principle for identifying the true text of the Bible in the original languages – the power of God.  Now, note that this is not mere, poetic language.  This is, rather, a profound, intellectual principle.

“Dunamei Theou,” the actual Greek words used by the Apostle Paul and translated “the power of God,” refers to “a specific and definable operation of God in the human psyche (the soul, the spirit, the mind, the heart, etc.…we won’t argue semantics).”

The standard definition for “psyche” (see the standard dictionary) is “the mind.”  The standard definition for “mind” (see the standard dictionary) is:

The element or complex of elements in an individual that feels, perceives, thinks, wills, and especially reasons.

Thus, the power of God is:

A specific and definable operation of God in:

The element or complex of elements in an individual that feels, perceives, thinks, wills, and especially reasons.

Now, this specific and definable operation of God does not require a college degree to understand, though, admittedly, this article may tend to suggest that it does require a college degree to understand.  The reason we must use big words and complex ideas is that, for some areas of human knowledge:

Only big words and complex ideas can prevent confusion.

For example, the Apostle Peter says in II Peter 3:16, of the Apostle Paul’s writings:

As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Note the words:

…some things hard to be understood….

This article deals with one of those “things hard to be understood” but, note, IT IS ONLY HARD UNTIL YOU GET THE UNDERSTANDING.  AFTER THAT, IT IS EASY!

Now, returning to our main point, the power of God is:

A specific and definable operation of God in:

The element or complex of elements in an individual that feels, perceives, thinks, wills, and especially reasons.

What is the specific and definable operation of God in the element or complex of elements, etc., etc.?

Ahhh, now this is where it gets tough; i.e., “hard to be understood.”  In the time of the early Christians, there were no widely accepted sciences, which are not always sciences, of psychology, psychiatry, empirical epistemology, empirical ontology, etc., etc.  Today, the extreme opposite is true.  As a result, there is a flood, AN ENORMOUS FLOOD, of scientific and pseudoscientific ideas – fact and fiction – that oppose the truth of God, the truth of the Bible.  There is only one way to be rescued from this flood – go straight to the truth of God, go straight to the Bible.  HOWEVER, THE FLOOD HAS BECOME SO ENTRENCHED IN CHRISTIAN THINKING THAT:

WE MUST ALSO FIGHT THE BATTLE ON THE ENEMIES TURF!

Fighting the battle on the enemies turf is nothing new.  The Apostle Paul did this many times; for example, on a couple of occasions recorded in the Bible, he quoted NONBIBLICAL WRITERS.

Again, returning to our main point, the power of God is:

A specific and definable operation of God in:

The element or complex of elements in an individual that feels, perceives, thinks, wills, and especially reasons.

Again, what is the specific and definable operation of God in the element or complex of elements, etc., etc.?

Now, some people, including some Christians, will declare “Only a simple answer is required!”  They are partly right.  They are right in the sense that only a simple answer is required BY THEM.  However, most people, including most Christians – among these are:

·        “Professionals of the mind” (psychiatrists, psychologists, psychoanalysts, psychotherapists, etc., etc.)

·        “Deep thinkers” (people who can only see things on a detail level; for these people, a thing does not exist unless it exists in detail)

·        “The confused masses,” the biggest group of all, who are confused because of the chaos and confusion of the host of speakers and writers trying to explain to them, in conflicting ways, the mysteries of the human mind and/or the mysteries of the endowments of God in the human mind and heart

– need a complex answer.

Now, they need a complex answer but, good news, the complex answer is simply a large collection of simple answers.  This large collection of simple answers comprises (makes up) idesistemology.  Now, more good news, not everyone needs to learn the entirety (all) of idesistemology.  The reason for this is that you only need to learn those truths that you need to fight the battles that you face.  In addition, there is a special class of people who need to learn all of the truths of idesistemology.  These are the people who defend, on one or more levels, the written word of God – Christian ministers, as well as Christian psychologists, Christian psychiatrists, Christian empirical epistemologists, Christian empirical ontologists, Christian sociologists, Christian anthropologists, etc., etc.

Well, after reading this far, you might feel cheated unless we provided at least one of the truths of idesistemology; so, here is one, a very important one:

REALITY IS A PIE THAT CAN BE SLICED MANY DIFFERENT WAYS.

In technical, idesistemological language that would be (the deep thinkers will love this):

The conscious manifestation of the human psyche to the self can vary from individual to individual and, within a given individual, from situation to situation and this manifestation can, contrary to the psychiatric and psychological, speculative thinking of A FEW, constitute the conscious manifestation of God in human experience.

Or, as our ultimate authority says in I Corinthians 12:7:

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

Note the word “manifestation.”  The Greek word in the above verse is “phanerosis.”  The word “phanerosis” ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS means:

A CONSCIOUS EXPERIENCE

A conscious experience can be, AMONG A MILLION OTHER THINGS:

·        A conscious thought

·        A conscious feeling

·        A conscious imagination

·        A conscious visualization

·        A conscious dream

·        A conscious daydream

·        A conscious emotion

·        A conscious desire

·        The experience of seeing something

·        The experience of hearing something

·        The experience of tasting something

·        The experience of smelling something

·        The experience of feeling something with the sense of touch

In plain English, stretching the word “feel” to its permitted limits (according to the standard, American English dictionary), and NOT limiting the word “feel” to human emotion:

WHEN GOD ENTERS YOUR LIFE, THERE ARE NEW THINGS TO “FEEL.”

THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG

Now, we have just unveiled the tip of a very large iceberg.  Lord willing, we will be presenting God’s entire message in the field of idesistemology, using both biblical and scientific proofs:

The enemy has been engaged, a revival has begun!
