Manuscript Hermeneutics (Update #3)
We begin with the unfortunate fact that important past scholarship has violated a very simple principle:
The Age Principle
A young manuscript might be a reliable copy of an old manuscript and an old manuscript might be an unreliable copy of an old manuscript. This leads to the following principle:
The age of a manuscript has no bearing on its correctness.
This principle was first stated at http://lfnexus.com/manuscripthermeneutics.htm on our original website.
