Starting immediately, the L. F. Nexus has begun a dramatic cutback in the number of email newsletters that it will be sending out.  Our reasons for doing so are:  (1) we have determined that we can make better use of the resources involved in writing and sending out our email newsletters and (2) we can accomplish more than 90% of what we need to accomplish by posting email newsletters’ information on this bulletin board.  Add the L. F. Nexus Bulletin Board to your Favorites List.

BIBLE:  Hebrews 10:23

Friday, July 29, 2005 10:23:11 AM CST

Updated Friday, July 29, 2005 11:49:30 AM CST

We quote Dr. Bisconti:

It is amusing how many people miss the simple truth that the Bible is a "reality book."  It is written in real-world language, not the contrived language of schools, scholars, and scientists.  There are instances in the Bible where both the original language text and every good translation of the original language text must DEFY lexicons and commentaries.  This bodes well for the King James Bible translators.  They were more concerned about an accurate translation than about a peer-recognized translation.  Hebrews 10:23 is one example.  There are so many ways to show the correctness of "faith" in place of "hope" that objections raised about which word is correct in this verse are laughable.  Here is one way to show the correctness of the rendering of "faith":  Hebrews 10:23 says "without wavering."  A study of the entire Bible, which can be conducted via any Bible, word search program, will show that "wavering" is never mentioned in connection with hope.  However, it is mentioned in connection with faith.  This connection is also found in James 1:6.  These are the only two verses where a derivative of the word "waver" is used.  Along the same line is the use of derivatives of the word "profess."  Again, they are never used in connection with hope, only in connection with faith.  We have many bigger guns on this verse but we are saving them for another time.  It is better to let your opponent work for the truth.  This way they may learn to perform a complete investigation before they go on the attack.  However, we will say one more thing and that is that this verse is a good example of translation as opposed to transverbalization (see http://lfnexus.com/doesthebibleteachthataninspiredtranslationhastobeawordforwordtranslation.htm.)

BIBLE:  How To Answer One Billion Questions With A Single Answer

Friday, July 29, 2005 11:51:28 AM CST

Traditional Biblical Textual Criticism attempts to “come in like a flood” (Isaiah 59:19) with a host of technical details and unanswered questions.  However, these questions are FOOLISH questions.  Why?  They do not seek CERTAINTY; they seek PROBABILITY.  Probability will never get you to 100% certainty.  It can come close.  But it will always fall short.  One computer analysis of the logic of TBTCs (Traditional Biblical Textual Critics) estimates that, including the children, the grandchildren, and the great grandchildren of questions relating to identifying the “true text” based on the evaluation of manuscript sources, there is the potential for 1.0013 billion questions that need to be answered AND ONCE THESE ARE ANSWERED ALL YOU HAVE IS A PROBABILITY, NOT CERTAINTY, OF THE TRUTH!  WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!  To answer these questions, simply tell a TBTC opponent:

You are NOT seeking certainty; that is not science; that is assumption.  Therefore, all of your questions are pointless and, therefore, invalid (without force in fact).  Good-bye.

BIBLE:  How To Ask Ten Billion Questions With A Single Question

Friday, July 29, 2005 1:02:58 PM CST

Updated Saturday, July 30, 2005 2:29:45 AM CST

Next-Generation Biblical Textual Criticism attempts to “come in like a flood” (Isaiah 59:19) with a host of technical details and unanswered questions.  These questions are WISE questions.  Why?  They seek CERTAINTY; they do not seek PROBABILITY.  Probability will never get you to 100% certainty.  It can come close.  But it will always fall short.  One computer analysis of the logic of NGBTCs (Next-Generation Biblical Textual Critics) estimates that, including the children, the grandchildren, and the great grandchildren of questions relating to identifying the “true text” based on the intervasaliztion of manuscript sources, there is the potential for 10.07004 billion questions that need to be answered AND ONCE THESE ARE ANSWERED YOU HAVE CERTAINTY, NOT A PROBABILITY, OF THE TRUTH!  WHAT A WONDERFUL USE OF TIME!  To ask these questions, simply inquire of a TBTC (Traditional Biblical Textual Critic) opponent:

Are we seeking certainty?  That is science; that is NOT assumption.  Therefore, all of our questions have a point and, therefore, are valid (with force in fact).  Welcome.

WEBSITE:  Does The L. F. Nexus Need To Make Money Off Of Its Website?

Saturday, July 30, 2005 5:27:42 AM CST

The L. F. Nexus does NOT need to make any money off of its website.  However, if it does not, the L. F. Nexus website will not be able to grow as quickly as it could.  This will NOT slow the Lord down.  He will STILL accomplish what he wants to accomplish.  However, since we would not be able to accomplish some of what the Lord might want accomplished, the Lord might use OTHER CHRISTIANS AND CHRISTIAN GROUPS to accomplish these things.  If he did not, all that the Lord wants accomplished would STILL be accomplished.  THE LORD DOES NOT NEED ANYONE.  We do his work because:

1.      We are explicitly commanded to do it.

2.      It is the right thing to do.

3.      We are overtly rewarded for doing it.

If we were NOT explicitly commanded to do it, we would do it because:

1.      It is the right thing to do.

2.      We are overtly rewarded for doing it.

If we were NOT explicitly commanded to do it and we were NOT overtly rewarded for doing it, we would do it because:

·        It is the right thing to do.

WEBSITE:  Why Did The L. F. Nexus Create The L. F. Nexus Website?

Saturday, July 30, 2005 8:30:03 AM CST

Our founder and president, Dr. Michael J. Bisconti, watched day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year, looking for SOMEONE TO ANSWER CERTAIN, CRUCIAL QUESTIONS.  IN FACT, NOT ONLY TO ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS BUT EVEN TO ASK THESE QUESTIONS.

For example, while a few were declaring the PERFECTION of the Word of God (the Bible), NO ONE WAS PROVING this perfection ON BOTH A SCIENTIFIC AND A FIDEISTIC (FAITH) BASIS and NO ONE WAS PROVING this perfection with PERFECT PRECISION and to the point of 100% CERTAINTY.  Yes, they would tell you about the need, necessity, promise, and reality of the PERFECTION OF GOD’S WORD but they would NOT PROVE IT SCIENTIFICALLY and they would NOT PROVE IT WITH PERFECT PRECISION and to the point of 100% CERTAINTY.

There were also crucial questions in the areas of “evolutionary brainwashing,” “the psychiatric drugging of America,” and yet other areas that were NOT being addressed.  Finally, Dr. Bisconti could take it no longer (as the Lord, of course, had planned) and he, the Lord, through Dr. Bisconti, launched the L. F. Nexus Website.

BIBLE:  Acts 12:4 – Easter Was Not Passover And Easter Was Not Christian Easter

Sunday, July 31, 2005 7:27:17 AM CST

There are some powerful arguments in favor of the view that the word “Easter” in this verse refers to “an annual celebration of the resurrection of Jesus.”  However, there are more powerful and actually decisive (settling things once and for all) arguments to the contrary.

In Acts 12, KING HEROD IS THE ONE DEFINING THE WORD "EASTER."  Acts 12:4 says "...[Herod} intending after Easter...."  The concept of Easter being used in this verse was the concept IN HEROD’S MIND.  Why?  It was linked to an intention IN HEROD’S MIND.  What was Herod's concept?  Herod's concept is determined by his reason for deciding to wait until after Easter.  What was his reason?  Was it that he respected "an annual celebration of the resurrection of Jesus"?  No.  Therefore, Herod's concept was NOT an "annual celebration of the resurrection of Jesus."  In other words, Herod’s concept of Easter was NOT Christian Easter.  That Herod’s concept was NOT the Jewish Passover is easily proven and well-documented.  There are numerous, other, Christian websites that address this point.

How do we know that Herod did not respect Easter as a Christian celebration?  Herod did NOT respect Christians.  Therefore, he did NOT respect things that Christian’s valued.  How do we know Herod did not respect Christians?  First, he was afflicting them.  Second, he had just killed James, the brother of John, with the sword.  Third, he, then, put Peter in prison.  Fourth, he intended to make a spectacle (contemptible public display) of Peter.  Therefore, Herod did NOT respect Easter as a Christian celebration.  Finally, Herod responded to the fact that the murder of James "pleased the Jews."  We thus see that Herod's reason was political.  THEREFORE, HEROD DID NOT RESPECT EASTER AS A CHRISTIAN CELEBRATION.

There are plenty of other, bigger guns that can be brought to bear on the question of what is meant by “Easter” in Acts 12:4.  However, what we have stated above is enough to settle the matter once and for all.
