MBT CREW:  The Critics

Tuesday, August 16, 2005 4:22:46 PM CST

Hello.  I am Donald Martin.  I head up the MBT Crew.

We are currently tracking 233 critics on the Internet.  190 are in the nonchristian community and 43 in the Christian community.  I wish all the critics were Christian critics.  You cannot imagine, or probably you can, the things that are said in the nonchristian world.

Dr. Bisconti asked me to file this report to give all of you an idea of the scope of the criticism.  Dr. Bisconti expects that we will hear from more than 5,000 critics by the end of August.  Dr. Bisconti reads all of the worst criticism.  Some of it is so foul and despicable that I don’t see how he maintains his composure.  Yet he always has a smile and a good word for everyone here at the L. F. Nexus and wherever he goes.

We now have a half hour of prayer lead by Dr. Bisconti for all of our critics, every day.  Dr. Bisconti cares about our critics just as much as he cares about our supporters.

Have a good evening and may the Lord bless all of you.  – Donald Martin

CHRISTIAN WORLD:  Christian Consensus On Recent Criticisms

Tuesday, August 16, 2005 5:43:50 PM CST

We have received over 10,000 emails, faxes and phone calls regarding the current, Internet criticisms.  They are running 100 to 1 in favor of the L. F. Nexus and the way in which the criticisms have been handled.  Needless to say, we at the L. F. Nexus are very pleased.

MESSAGE BOARDS:  Results Of Intensive 10-Day Study And Future Plans

By Dr. Jerry Fields, Ph.D. and Debate Tactician

Wednesday, August 17, 2005 2:37:34 PM CST

A 3-man team here at the L. F. Nexus, working ten hours a day for ten days has just completed an exhaustive study of over 1,000 message boards across the United States and globally.  The focus was on “debate-style message boards.”  Here are their conclusions:

  1. 95% of the debate-style message boards, hereafter referred to as “DSMBs,” are more chat rooms than anything else.

  1. 99% of the DSMBs do not know how to conduct intelligent debates, though 75% do know how to conduct informed debates.

  1. Christian message boards fare no better than nonchristian message boards in understanding intelligent debating.

  1. The principal failure of debaters in the area of intelligent debating is their ignorance of the “Moral Exclusionary Rule.”  The Moral Exclusionary Rule states:

No debater is permitted to allow their moral and ethical insights (called also “discernment,” “illumination,” “revelation,” “special revelation,” “moral insight,” “discrimination,” “perception,” “penetration,” “acumen,” etc., etc.) into (the character and motives of) other debaters to intrude into any debate.

As a result of these findings, the L. F. Nexus has disbanded the MBT Crew and will no longer study U.S. and global message boards.  We ask that our subscribers no longer inform us of what is being said on the message boards about the L. F. Nexus.

The resources formerly devoted to the work of the MBT Crew will now be devoted to the creation of an “intelligent debate forum” here at the L. F. Nexus, where Christians can learn at an accelerated pace by following “intelligent rules of debate.”

Everyone will be welcome, even our critics.  OF COURSE, EVERYONE WILL HAVE TO ABIDE BY THE MORAL EXCLUSIONARY RULE, INCLUDING OUR CRITICS.

The timetable for “NEXDRUM,” the “Nexus Debate Forum,” will depend on how much funds we have available to implement the project.

Note that when the “MX Rule,” the Moral Exclusionary Rule, is followed, debaters are persuaded more quickly about the strength or weakness of their position.

Everyone will be allowed to express their view BUT, AGAIN, they must follow the MX Rule, as well as other rules of intelligent debating, which we shall set forth on an upcoming web page.

Finally, Dr. Bisconti is looking forward to this project.  He intends to participate personally in the debates.

– Jerry Fields

TEXTUAL SUPER MATRIX:  Additional Explanation Of The Nature Of The “Interpretations” Of The Textual Super Matrix

Thursday, August 18, 2005 5:18 PM CST

Updated Thursday, August 18, 2005 5:36 PM CST

The “interpretations” of the TSMX, the Textual Super Matrix, are not interpretations in the sense of either “translation” or “the meaning of a text.”  The term “interpretation” refers to a “psychological mechanism of the human mind by which impressions are ‘translated’ (converted) into perceptions.”  As such, TSMX interpretation is UNCONSCIOUS and, therefore, NOT subject to the will or whim of any person.  However, because the individuality of the human mind enters into the picture, we CANNOT say that we are dealing with a totally objective entity when speaking of interpretations of the TSMX.  Here is the definition, again, for “sensorium”:

The sensorium is “the parts of the brain or the mind concerned with the reception and interpretation of sensory stimuli.”  Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, Tenth Edition

Note that in the definition for “sensorium” the word “interpretation” is NOT talking about translating or explaining.  In other words, when we say “the Textus Receptus, an ancient Greek text, is an interpretation of another, ancient Greek text, namely, the New Testament portion of the Textual Super Matrix,” what we are really saying is:

The Textus Receptus, an ancient Greek text, is the product of the operation of the psychological mechanism of the human mind by which impressions of another, ancient Greek text, namely, the New Testament portion of the Textual Super Matrix, are ‘translated’ (converted) into perceptions of this other, ancient Greek text, namely, the New Testament portion of the Textual Super Matrix.

Probably a note about the difference between “impression” and “perception” would be helpful.  An impression is, IN EFFECT, “an unconscious experience.”  You can think of an impression as the electrical impulses from an optic nerve to your brain resulting from seeing something.  A perception is “a product of the processing of an impression by the sensorium.”  The reason we use the word “sensorium” rather than either the word “brain” or “mind” is to avoid a debate in the psychological community about whether the brain or the mind processes information (impressions).  This debate is the psychological equivalent of the KJV debate.  That’s a whole other battle that we will be fighting.  While I won’t, at this time, tell you our position, I will give you a hint:  it is consistent with the teachings of the Bible.
