Tweet #100440: How the ACLU Is Violating the Constitution and Enslaving America

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The latest crime of the ACLU is their demanding that people not display a cross.

Now we need some facts.

Language of the Constitution

Here is the religious clause of the First Amendment of the Constitution:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof….

Street Language

Here is the religious clause of the First Amendment of the Constitution in street language:

Congress shall pass no law forcing people to follow a certain religion or forcing people to stop following the religion that they do follow.

Constitutional Tests

The First Amendment (see above) tells us that there are only two tests for religious constitutionality legality; that is, whether a religious act is constitutionally legal:

1. Was a law passed to force someone to follow a religion?

2. Was a law passed to force someone to stop following a religion?

ACLU Violation

The ACLU says that you cannot display a cross.

Let us apply the constitutional tests:

1. Was a law passed to force someone to follow a religion by displaying a cross?

No.

2. Was a law passed to force someone to stop following a religion by displaying a cross?

No.

Therefore:

The Constitution allows a person to display a cross.
