Driverless cars are insane. Why? In science there is a principle called the “Immortal Surprise Principle,” which states:
There will always be something new.
Therefore, the programs that control driverless cars will never be able to predict every possible driving situation. Now, to be fair, driving risk will be reduced. However, driving risk will also be equalized. This means that driving risk will be tilted away from bad drivers to a certain degree and tilted toward good drivers to the same degree. This means less bad drivers will die and more good drivers will die.
