There is a lot of anger, hostility, and hatred in the air and has been for quite awhile. Therefore, the L. F. Nexus proposes December 1st, 2011 as a national day of forgiveness we are calling “American Forgiveness Day” where everybody forgives everybody else for their abuses, sins, offenses, crimes, etc., etc. Democrats forgive Republicans. Republicans forgive Democrats. Husbands forgive wives. Wives forgive husbands. Parents forgive their children. Children forgive their parents. Every group forgives every other group. Every class forgives every other class.
To get the ball rolling, we are toning down our rhetoric. We’ll try not to call anyone a “stupid moron” again, though we don’t promise not to do so since there really are some stupid morons out there.
PS: Note quickly, in passing, that, of course, any violations of the law must still be prosecuted. Forgiveness is not amnesty (“legal forgiveness”). One can forgive without granting amnesty.
