Today, we saw a young Mexican man spit on an 89-year-old woman. Our first reaction was, of course, to put it mildly, anger. We took appropriate measures that ended up in the arrest of the young Mexican. Now, you might think that, as a result of this incident, that we now hate all Mexicans. However, this is not the case. The reason that we do not hate all Mexicans is that we don’t judge a group of people by the action of one of their members.
However, the spitting incident got us thinking about illegal immigration again. We were reminded that the federal government is not enforcing immigration law. In addition, we now know that illegal immigrants have taken 10,000 jobs away from Americans this year, especially at McDonalds and Walmart. Therefore, we are stepping up our efforts to oppose illegal immigration. We propose the following:
1. All criminal, illegal immigrants must be immediately deported.
2. Until the federal government begins enforcing immigration law, 5% of all illegal immigrants must be deported every month.
